History:	As the first painting in a two-part wine cellar series, Wine Cellar I is a wonderful example or wine art still life. The objects seen are the typical signs of wine drinking and honoring. The bread, the grapes, the barrel, the filled wine glass, and the two wine bottles make for an appetizing evening in. Subtly rendered in the shadowy background is a wine rack filled with more bottles, clueing us in that this arrangement is taking place right at the source.
